Welcome to the Takashina Lab at the University of Tokyo. We conduct quantitative research on various social-ecological systems, including both marine and terrestrial environments, with the aim of understanding methods for balancing ecosystem management/conservation and human activities from an interdisciplinary perspective. Currently, we are trying to understand effective ways to establish protected areas and sustainable management of fishery resources. We also conduct ecological studies, such as studies the ecological and evolutionary mechanisms involved in the formation and maintenance of biodiversity, as well as population dynamics. If you are interested in joining the lab as a postdoc, funded Ph.D. student, or master's student, see here.
